Launched: Reading to Baby

It’s launched! And I’m loving the experience.

Every couple of weeks , baby and I get a few books from the library and go through them once we are back home. After he has gone to bed for a nap or in the evening, I take sometime to myself and I look at the book in more depth. And I write everything down. From how baby reacted to the book, how I liked it ( or not) , I share the information about the book , and, some notes on the illustrative style, number of pages and so on. My focus here being the discovery and analysis of picture books and boards books from an illustrator’s perspective.

And I’ve already discovered a few illustrators I wasn’t familiar with. What a treat!

Amongst my favourite illustrators so far are Helen Oxenbury and Oliver Jeffers. They are very different in style. But they are wonderfully skilled artists in my opinion. You won’t find my favourite books so far reviewed online, they are scheduled for later on this summer. So far we have six book reviews , with many more to come. Have a look for yourself. You can follow the book review site directly if you wish to. All you need to do is go to www.readingtobaby.wordpress.com and sign up.

And if you have any books you would recommend or would like me to review, please do get in touch
